We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky.

Helsinki, -8 degrees

In the beginning of January I was lucky enough to win some jewelry in a blog giveaway organized by the Finnish blog Sydämen asialla and Finnish jewelry company Salmiakki Manifesto! I was thrilled over the prize because I've been admiring Salmiakki Manifesto's jewelry for some time already. For those of you readers who aren't that familiar with the Finnish treat - salmiakki stands for salty licorice and it's widely popular here up in the North! I love how Salmiakki Manifesto has come up with the idea to use the traditional shape of Finnish Salmiakki, which a universal shape also known as the diamond, for its jewelry. It is a perfectly edged design in black!

Tammikuun alussa olin niin onnekas, että voitin Sydämen asialla -blogin ja Salmiakki Manifeston järjestämän kilpailun! Olen todella iloinen voitostani, koska olen jo jonkun aikaa ihaillut kyseisen yrityksen koruja. Mielestäni on upeeta miten Salmiakki Manifesto on hoksannut hyödyntää salmiakin kaunista timanttimuotoa koruissaan!

When I recived my precious jewelry box from Salmiakki Manifesto that included a ring and necklace, it also included some salmiakki candies. I'm a candy craze so I managed to eat the candies straight away, even before I had time to take a photo of them. Oops, that's how fast I'm in wolfing down candy!

Hupsista...

I combined my new jewelry to a classic look: a black blazer that I've bought from the Finnish blogger Linda Juhola, who's behind P.S. I love Fashion when she organized a blog flea market, my new grey print t-shirt with the text "love" on it and my black jeans.

Yhdistin korut klassiseen asukokonaisuuteen: käytin mustaa jakkua, jonka ostin P.S. I love Fashion -blogin Linda Juholalta kun hän järjesti blogikirppiksen, harmaata printti t-paitaa ja mustia farkkuja.

Do you have any special sweet treats / candies coming from your country that you could think about wearing (thanks to their form) as jewelry?

Käyttäisittekö itse salmiakin muotoisia koruja?

  4. hehe, to be honest I don't like licorice at all, I mean the taste of it. but I sure like your necklace. it's really pretty and also a classic piece. when it comes to your question then we have something similar to jellybeans but they have raisins inside them (merekivi in Estonian/seastone in English). those are pretty cool and colourful and would make some nice jewellery pieces.

    1. Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I think it's something in our Finnish DNA. I tried to google merekivi but I didn't find anything :(

  9. I also love sweets! No, I never thought of sweets as jewelry, but why not? That was a great idea! I know the sweets or the salty ones you mentioned, but by another name. I used to love them! Loved the top with Love on it - love is one of my favorite words! denisesplanet com
